Peninsula High School Palos Verdes

AJ finally played. Tough start to the season- AJ tore ligaments in his right ankle in the Spring, retore his ligaments in the Summer and tweaked his ankle a 3rd time at the start of Fall. He sat out Peninsula's 1st two losses. Started tonight at H Back and MLB. Had 3 catches for 34 yards, 4 runs for 28 yards, 10 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a pass deflection. Best of all, Penn won! Great start (finally)

But sadly the powers that be at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School don't care about its students and their struggle to be a part a team. They cancelled the rest of the football season without cause. They kids of Penn have learned a valuable lesson thanks to their principal, If you can't win every time it's ok to just quit, it's easier than trying harder.

Palos Verdes Peninsula High School snubs its Students and Parents

Today sadly; the right to play the last three games of their Varsity football season was stripped away by the principal of #palosverdespeninsula high school and her so called panel of experts. Sighting saftey as the reason to forfeit the last three games, what you failed to realize is what lesson you actually endorsed. You essentially told the boys to submit to oppression and the perceived strong. To not fight for what they believe in which in this case was themselves. You told them that when there is a struggle to relinquish control and bow down. You told them that you and your panel had no confidence in them. If it's seems like a hard task back down and take a easier safer path.
For once I implore the boys of the Peninsula Panther Varsity football team to NOT take this lesson. You should always fight for what you believe in, never give up even when the odds are stacked against you. Always believe in yourself and your ability. Great things comes to those that push the limits of what seems possible. Your grit, determination and heart will define who you are not a label or doubt someone else cast over you.
"Human beings want to be free and however long they may agree to stay locked up, to stay oppressed, there will come a time when they say 'That's it.' Suddenly they find themselves doing something that they never would have thought they would be doing, simply because of the human instinct that makes them turn their face towards freedom"
We the parents of the Panther football team are extremely proud of you and never doubted you even if it seemed as though fate dealt you a bad card.
Continue to fight boys in everything that you do. You may lose some battles but you will never lose a war. #StayCommited #StayStrong. Written by Martin Rosemond
